Downsizing? Here Are the Best Places in Boca Raton to Donate Items
These are the best places to donate your unwanted items in and near Boca Raton:
- Habitat for Humanity
- Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County
- Treasures for Hope
- Joshua Thrift Store
- The Purple Heart
- American Cancer Society
Here’s a closer look at each.
Habitat for Humanity
You can request a pickup from Habitat for Humanity to donate clothing, furniture and other items, or you can bring your donation to the South Palm Beach County location. Call 561-455-4609 to schedule a pickup.
Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County
Donate household items to the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County at 1000 45th Street in West Palm Beach. Clothing, children’s toys, books, games and other household items are welcome, but they ask that you package all your donations (trash bags are fine) and that you don’t pack them too heavy – many of the volunteers working there can’t lift more than 25 pounds.
Treasures for Hope
The Treasures for Hope Charity Store accepts donations of new and gently used furniture and household items. You can donate clothing and shoes, artwork, handbags, home accessories and kitchen items right at the shop’s front door, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They also offer free pick-up for furniture items and other large donations, but they ask that you schedule a week or two in advance (you can call 561-691-8881 to schedule).
Joshua Thrift Store
Joshua Thrift Store has three locations – two in West Palm Beach and one in Lake Park. You can make donations Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (they’re closed on Sundays). They accept kid’s toys, clothing, books and games; furniture; kitchen items; and a variety of other gently used household items.
The Purple Heart
You can donate to the Purple Heart through GreenDrop, whether you’re sending in large pieces of furniture, clothing, children’s toys and books, games, kitchen items or other household goods. The Purple Heart sells these items to raise usable funds that support veterans and their families in Boca Raton and throughout Florida.
American Cancer Society
You can donate gently used clothing, furniture and household items to support the American Cancer Society of South Florida, and they’ll come to your location to pick up items you aren’t able to drop off. (You can schedule a pickup here or by calling 877-485-0337.)
