Coconut Creek

Butterfly World has around 20,000 live butterflies waiting for your grandkids to visit – just make sure you all have comfortable shoes on. It takes most people two to three hours to make their way through this wonderland of monarchs, swallowtails, lepidoptera and other winged beauties. You’ll learn all kinds of amazing facts (including that butterflies in the aviary at Butterfly World have lifespans twice as long as wild butterflies have). Over the course of a year, more than 150 species of butterflies hatch and fly around the aviaries, and you can see them at all stages of their life cycle. While you’re there, check out the lorikeet encounter – these cheerfully bright and friendly birds will happily land on you in exchange for nectar.
