Looking for a top pet friendly 55+ community in Delray Beach or Boynton Beach?  Having a hard time finding one because of your pets?  And, of course, I know your family includes your dogs and cats.  Absolutely.  No question about it.  Because my family includes my dogs.  It can be a daunting task navigating through listings to find a 55+ pet-friendly community that is pet friendly to your furry friends.  Following are the best pet friendly 55+ communities in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach.

Probably the most talked about, and recognizable by name of the 55+ dog-friendly communities in Delray, Boynton Beach and Lake Worth are the Valencias.   Currently, there are 12 Valencia communities:  Valencia Lakes, Valencia Isles, Valencia Shores, Valencia Falls, Valencia Palms, Valencia Pointe, Valencia Reserve, Valencia Cove, Valencia Bay, Valencia Sound and Valencia Grand.  Whew, that’s a lot!

 

The Valencias are located in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Lake Worth.  They have beautiful grand clubhouses overlooking lakes with fitness centers, pools, restaurants, grand ballrooms, clubs, cards, tennis, pickle ball courts and more.  Way more.  The Valencias have action.  Go to the clubhouse pretty much any time of day and you’ll always find someone there and something to do.

 

How about taking Bella or Charlie for a walk around the community?   Meet some new or old friends along the way. Sounds like a nice idea.  Dogs love to go for walks, and studies have shown that having a dog is good for older people.  The Valencias have winding paths that can be used for walking, riding bikes or walking dogs.  Perfect!

Yes!  Don’t forget to take a Buyer’s agent with you. Buyer beware – don’t get caught!

You won’t save any money going directly to the builder.  Builders don’t negotiate.  Their salespeople just collect a double commission. People are often under a misconception about this.

I once had a couple who had signed with a builder.  It was late and there was much paperwork left to do.  We agreed that they would finish up with the salesperson.  The next day I found out the salesperson sold them the lot next to the entire electric grid for the community backing up to who knows what they were going to build!   After telling the buyers it was a worthless lot, which it was, and they would never be able to resell it, I convinced the builder to move them onto the lake.

Needless to say, my buyers were very grateful as was I.  Lesson learned!    There is another story about a pool, but I’ll save it for now.

And this story about the memorial gardens is a recent one.   You can’t make this stuff up.

 

The Valencias are all pet friendly, but pet restrictions can and do vary between the different communities.   Some have the original pet restrictions and some were changed by homeowner’s associations through the years.  Don’t forget to check the pet restrictions for the community you are interested in!
